Jonas Daughter: Life After Band Chapt. 36 "Not Moving On" Video

Recap:
Darren surprised Cara with a picnic lunch.

Me: *sits down next to him on the blanket* This is amazing.
Darren: *pulls out a McDonalds bag from the basket* I snagged my sister's Teen People magazine and found out your faves. One Big Mac, everything on it and fries.
Me: Yeah! Thanks!
Darren: And a sweet tea.. *hands it to her*
Me: Thanks.

We ate and laughed and I realized I never had realized how good Darren looked. But I couldn't let myself fall for him. My heart belonged to Tyler.

Darren: You know this is to make up for our date at the rest stop. We never did get a second one.

Oh no. He thought this was real.

Me: Darren wait-
Darren: I just want to pick up from where we left off. *leans in and kisses her*

I immeaditly yanked away. Darren looked hurt and confused.

Me: Darren, please don't take it personally. But...what happened at the rest stop it can't happen-
Darren: I get it. My dad paid you off to date me on tour. And now you don't want to date me.
Me: Darren, no I swear-
Darren: Don't worry about it Cara. My dad's done it before. *gets up and starts to walk back towards the school*
Me: No please Darren. Just listen to me! *runs after him*
Darren: *whips around* What?
Me: In the hospital, I met a guy. I fell in love with him. He became my everything and I was his everything.
Darren: So what, you guys are dating now or something?
Me: He died.
Darren: *eyes soften* Oh Cara. I'm sorry.
Me: It's only been five months and I'm just not ready to move on yet. He and I had something special.
Darren: Oh. I get it.*sighs* You're not ready to date.
Me: Yeah. But that doesn't mean we can't be friends.
Darren: *smiles* You're right.
Me: Good. So can we finish lunch?
Darren: Sure.

We finished our lunch and then went inside. I met up with Lizzie.

Lizzie: So what happened at lunch?
Me: We agreed to be friends.
Lizzie: But he's SO hot!
Me: Yeah, but I'm just not ready to move on.
Lizzie: What do you mean.
Me: *sighs* I'll tell you tonight. At the sleepover.

***That Night***

Lizzie: OK girls, Cara says she's not ready to move on.
Samantha: From who?
Me: *sighs* OK, you guys can't tell anyone.
Samantha: Spill.
Me: When I was in the hospital in rehab because of my coma I met a guy.
Ashley Is he cute?
Me: He was hot and sexy.
Izzy: What happened?
Me: Well he would sneak into my room at night and we'd hang out. Then one night he kissed me.
All of the girls: Awww!
Me: We fell in love!
Rachel: Oh my God! How did it feel?
Me: Awesome. Amazing. And that's not even the best part.
Lindsey: You went to second base?
Me: No. We-*cuts off and smiles* had sex.
All of the girls: *squeels* Oh my God! How amazing!
Samantha: What happened though? You say you're not ready to move on? Did he dump you before you came back to New Jersey?
Me: *sighs* No. Tyler had cancer. The night after we had sex..he uh...died.

All of the girls just looked at me for a second. I felt the tears well up in my eyes and as much as I tried to blink them away, one fell down my cheek. All of the girls hugged me.

Samantha: No wonder why you can't date!
Rachel: You're shattered!
Ashley: You lost a part of you!
Me: Yeah. And I feel like I'll always belong to Tyler.
Lindsey: Even with the two cutest boys in the school crushing on you?
Me: I told Darren today we could just be friends. But I do NOT want to be friends with Jake.

Everyone laughed and agreed. Then we watched She's The Man and then 17 Again, to Lizzie's embarrasment.

The movie was at the part where Zac stands up and talks about being pure and Zac came into the rec room. He saw what we were watching.

Zac: *laughs* That was the most awkward scene I ever had to film. Although I totally agree with it 100%.
Samantha: Well then you will NOT be happy with what Lizzie did last summer.
Lizzie: Samantha shut up! *tosses pillow at her* I did nothing.
Zac: You better not have. *kisses her head* Now I know you all have seen this a million times. It's after midnight. Turn it off and go to sleep. *goes upstairs*

But of course we didn't. We stayed up all night talking and laughing. And for a second, I realized what it was like to have a normal life. And I wished I could have more of it.
