Back in 1969 Anton Lavey wrote The Satanic Bible.
On page 96 on the 1976 version, it mentions Halloween:
Halloween - All Hallows' Eve, or All Saints' Day - falls on October 31st or November 1st. Originally, All Hallows' Eve was one of the great fire festivals of Britain at the time of the Druids. In Scotland it was associated with the time when the spirits of the dead, the demons, witches, and sorcerers were unusually active and propitious. Paradoxically, All Hallows' Eve was also the night when young people performed magical rituals to determine their future marriage partners. The youth of the villages carried on with muchmerry-making and sensual revelry, but the older people took great care to safeguard their homes from the evil spirits, witches, and demons who had exceptional power that night (Lavey A, Gilmore P. The Satanic Bible. Avon, September 1, 1976, p. 96--note it is on page 53 of an online version I found also).
Now why was November 1, chosen? Notice the following:
To exorcise these ghosts, that is, to free yourself from their supposed evil sway, you would have to set out food and provide shelter for them during the night. If they were satisfied with your offerings, it was believed they would leave you in peace. If not, they were believed to cast an evil spell on you. "In Wales it was firmly believed that on All Hallows Eve the spirit of a departed person was to be seen at midnight on every crossroad and every stile" ("Folklore and Folk-Stories of Wales", Marie Trevelyan, p. 254).
In Cambodia people used to chant: "O all you our ancestors, who are departed, deign to come and eat what we have prepared for you, and to bless your posterity and to make it happy" ("Notice sur le Cambodge", Paris 1875, E. Aymonièr, p. 59).
This sort of Hallowe'en festival was strenuously observed throughout the non-Christian world. Pagans would pray to their false gods to prevent "DEMONS" and "witches" from molesting them. Notice! "The Miatecs of Mexico believed that the souls of the dead came back in the twelfth month of the year, WHICH CORRESPONDED TO OUR NOVEMBER. On this day of All Souls the houses were decked out to welcome the spirits. Jars of food and drink were set on a table in the principal room, and the family went out with the torches to meet the ghosts and invite them to enter. Then, returning to the house they knelt around the table, and with their eyes bent on the ground, prayed the souls to accept the offerings" ("Adonis", Frazer, p. 244).
Wittekind's Germans, now professing Christians, and other conquered pagans, had a profound influence on the ecclesiastical affairs of the church in the early 800's A. D. These barbaric and uncultured people brought with them many outright pagan practices and celebrations, Hallowe'en merely being one of many. They were fervent in clinging to their past ceremonies and observed them openly -- yet supposedly converted to Christianity. What was the church to do? Excommunicate them and thus reduce her membership? This she would not do. Was she to force them into discarding their heathen practices and adopt Italian or Roman ones? This, as she had learned in past times, was not possible.
Christians and Halloween do not belong together.Who Is the Lord of the Dead? We have established that Satan once had the power over death—but he does not anymore. So who is the lord of the dead today? At this point, we need to briefly consider several scriptures.As the Encyclopedia Britannica states, [The festival of] Samhain was an important precursor to Halloween. So far, Halloweens origins do not seem so innocent.

fndalves: but I have another question to you,,, you may know people who have other faiths, or none at all.. friends, relatives... some you love may do some thing that will make your god send them to hell, like being atheist or celabrate hallowen... as you said, you dont question god's will... but how will you be happy in heaven knowing that your beloved ones are burning forever??

booku4: To be in Heaven will only be for 7 years then we will all return to a new earth! At that time I will be so happy to be will my Lord I not be thinking of any thing else.

fndalves: first, forgive me for my sicerity, but it looks like a santa claus story to me... second... are you saing that, basically, god will make you forget your beloved ones so they can burn in hell without disturbing your happiness in the new earth?? did I understand it right?? it seems a bit cruel and selfish to me...

booku4: The time we are in Heaven is the time of judgment for others. It is the time of the marriage supper. The time of crying and sorry will be at judgment he will remove every tear from our eyes and replace with great joy inside. We will have lived a life for him to have gained this life to live forever and ever with him it is a great prize. This is why I tell everyone in my family of his great love now and make videos like this of truth.

booku4: When you have earned something why would it be selfish? To live a good life and show respect to your Lord and God is not being selfish in the end. He is giving us a reward for following his word and we will be ruling with him.

fndalves: I said nothing about earning something... you said you will be so happy in hell that you won`t care about people burning in hell, even when you don`t understand why they deserve that... this is cruel and selfish...

booku4: I will have no memory of my loved ones that are not with me in Heaven. It is a time of celebration, the marriage of the Lamb of God. He is the one who will take the memory away of the ones not with us. The judgment is after we all return then they that do not get to stay will be cast into outer darkness were the worm never dies. This is not selfish! The wage I have earned is life. If you earn death you earned it.

fndalves: I already understand that... you don`t care, even now that your memory has not been took away yet ... and it is cruel and selfish to me... say it to your loved ones... some thing like``hey, I love you and I really really want you to go to heaven with me, but if you don`t make it, I don`t care much because I will forget you``... by the way, i`m curious... where in the bible is that `take memory away` stuff?

booku4: And the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces Ish 25:8, Let them be continually before the LORD, That He may cut off the memory of them from the earth. PS 109:15. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil. To cut off the remembers of them off the face of the earth. Ps 34:16.
