Thelma's Salon (4) REVOLUTION Hard Rock Cafe Video

1994 Finding one of the last neighborhood beauty shops from the 1950's Steve Boyle recruited some of the shop's patrons to act as former tennie boppers and hippies turned future Senior Citizens. It was funny in 1994, maybe not so funny now! Thelma's was torn down a few months after filming.

Back in the mid 1990's STEVE ROUTHIER, Hard Rock Cafe VP of Memorabilia asked Nashville music video producer/director STEVE BOYLE to come up with a series of Anti-Commercial Commercials for Hard Rock Cafe to play in-house within the new global HRC music video channel they both created. The commercials the Steve's produced won a number of international film festival awards and was the start of the anti-commercial concept later adopted by MTV and ESPN.
