Morioka Hachimangu Festival Video
I was back up in Morioka again for yet another festival, this time for the 300 year old Hachimangu Matsuri.
The Hachimangu Matsuri is a 3-day festival with floats, music, dances, and yabusame (mounted archery).
The floats take 6 months to decorate and 200 people are attached to each one. The floats depicted characters from Japanese and Chinese history/legend and Kabuki characters.
theuglyninja: the floats are fantastic great vid thanks ronin
rtwfreak: Nice video. Just to bad about the rain. And mourning the end of the summer? Summer in Japan is hell.....especially in Tokyo, Kyoto was a bit better, it was really nice to walk along the Kamo river in the evenings then.
blackrose504: have you been to miyazaki yet?
ChillNAndy: 5/5 great
RoninDave: down in kyushu? I've been to the NE part but not to Miyazaki yet.
