kid0147: The solution is to respect the sovereignty, the culture, the traditional values, the religion (Islam) and the renown history of bravery, pride and independence of the Afghan people. The solution is to stop imposing 'Western' values by the name of 'DEMOCRACY' on Afghans. Democracy existed in our country long before your country got a place in the world map. But our democracy is within the limits of the rules that our culture and religion allow us.
kid0147: The solution is to listen to people's needs rather than destroying their homes. You think Taliban are fighting you guys for fun? No mate, Taliban are local village people who have no jobs, no source of income and out of despairity and lack of security fight for living. If you build factories and industries were local people can go and work and earn a few pounds to buy their family a loaf of bread then you will never see them taking up the guns to fight you.
kid0147: If you can ensure them that growing wheat will provide them enough food to feed their families then you will never see a single field of growing poppy and opium. But the bitter fact is, the West, particularly the US and the UK are running 50+ Billion Dollars worth drug trade in southern Afghanistan. You think it is not in US's capability to destroy all those fields in 2 days? of they can wipe them all out in a matter of hours if they want to but why should they do that? why harm their business?
kid0147: There is a whole game going on than what you can daily see on BBC or CNN or other news channels. How on earth could a government like the Taliban who had like 3-4 planes in their entire air force or who had about 10000-20000 student soldiers pose any threat to the US or Europe? Do you even have any idea how poor they were? But the question arises why would they do any harm in first place? we have Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia etc to our north, who are non-Islamic states.....
kid0147: Why didn't the Taliban attack those countries who were practically within their reach but instead wanted to attack the US or European countries? Dude, use your logics. The US created the Taliban against the Russians, but then it was known as Mujahidin. But now they are fighting the same people. Doesn't that sound cheeky? Don't you believe the US and its NATO allies, with some 1,00,000 or more strong forces can defeat the Taliban which numbers in about 10000 to 15000 untrained fighters?
kid0147: Just remember this last thing then i will shut up bec i'm getting tired of typing. AL-QAEDA = 9-11 = US MADE TALIBAN = SUPPORTED BY THE US (CIA) = HAS NO TIES WITH AL-QAEDA BUT IS FIGHTING FOR A SOVEREIGN AFGHANISTAN (although they dont have any brilliant plans for the people)
planecrazynl: In 1989 the Soviets withdrew, leaving the PDPA(Peoples Democratic Party of Afghanistan) government to fend for itself. The CIA soon lost interest in its mercenary forces now that they had accomplished their mission of bleeding the Soviets white. The Mujahadeen factions began fighting as much with themselves as with the PDPA forces, resulting in increased suffering and bloodshed.
planecrazynl: It wasnt until 1992 that Mujahadeen fighters were able to topple the remnants of the PDPA government ending the Stalinists attempts to bring revolution to the people of Afghanistan at the point of a gun. so wich Democracy?
planecrazynl: Different Mujahadeen warlords occupied different cities and regions of the country. Burhanuddin Rabbani, the same Northern Alliance warlord who recently took Kabul from the Taliban, was the warlord who ruled over the city from 1992 until his ouster in 1996. During his reign over 60,000 people were murdered and thousands of women were raped. Current Northern Alliance warlord Rashid Dostum who is in control of the city of Mazar E Sharif, also ruled over it from 1992 until his ouster in 1997
planecrazynl: Simmilary, the warlord Ismail Khan again rules the city of Heart, which he also ruled from 1992 to 1995; and warlord Yunis Khalis is back in control of Jalabad, which he ruled from 1992 to 1996
planecrazynl: Are our Guys murdering out of fun or religion,i dont think so,they try truly to bring you peace in your country, you can say over about a couple of years that they have tried because the discussions at our Western country's over the high BLOOD PRICE OUR SOLDIERS ARE PAYING are rising and rising and withdrawing of this Country's is a matter of time,so help your self.
kid0147: Don't look back at the recent 10-20 years history. I admit there were several civilian wars which damaged the country and killed thousands of innocent people. But look at the past 300 years history of modern day Afghanistan. We were one of the most peaceful countries in the world. Politically neutral and had (and still have) a very dignified traditional way of life. So why do you bother to change that? And what better are you than the Taliban or warlords which destroyed the country in past 30 y?
kid0147: Afghans are worse-off in the past 9 years of your supported government than they were during the Taliban rule. I know girls were not allowed to attend schools in Taliban era but what good is it for them to attend school now when they cant get a decent job. They dont have a sense of security, not even in capital Kabul. The Taliban atleast provided security and peace for people. They did not randomly killed people and entitled them as ''collateral damage''.
kid0147: The Taliban did have a set of rules which enabled them to have stability and ''RULE OF LAW'' in the country (although some consider them very harsh laws). But people did not die from that. You would not die if you didn't listen to a song or watch tv or shave your beard. Anyhow, I just want to tell you before you go to any mission to Afghanistan, you just need to take 5 mins and ask yourself what am i going there for? What will i achieve and what benefits would i bring to the country?
kid0147: If you can justify the killing of innocent people as a part of your mission to bring in peace and stability, then you will be done for this world. Just follow your heart, your morals and ethics rather than what your commander tells you to do. If you save life of one person then you save the life of all mankind and if you kill one person (without a sound justification) then you kill the whole mankind. Thats what we are taught by our religion (ISLAM). It is a universal code of conduct for all.
planecrazynl: Once in power the Taliban sought to create a theocratic state based on their interpretations of the Koran. Though already severely repressed by the various Mujahadeen warlords, the plight of Afghanistans women was made even worse under the new regime. The veil became the law of the land, and women were forbidden from attending school or holding employment outside of the home
planecrazynl: no that is not to justify you are right about it,but that our guys are there for the killing is not true, our soldiers are send there to secure civilians in projectsto build or to grow things, but the only thing they do is fighting, they didnt come with the intention to fight, the taliban is forcing them to fight.very sad. There are Thousands of Afghan people living in our Country,Fled for violence of Taliban. don't you think we didn't had our lessons overhere in Europe.
planecrazynl: you are right, the Afghans have to start again,i understand, but you can't make a future without knowing the past. Europe only knows for the past 50 years real peace which is very fragile. I've read it all,why can't Afghanistan have there own stabile government, why they had to fuck up election,Why are there so much clan"s,family''s who wants to kill eachother. Are many people joining the Taliban out of revenge or jalousy against another man in the village?.And no we are no better but we try.
planecrazynl: Television was banned and an effort was made to purge the country of any signs or remnants of secular or Western influence. The country became politically and diplomatically isolated. And im no soldier,im only spotting planes sucked into this issue.
planecrazynl: very wise words of you, let's go deeper and further,we can't change anything but we can try don't you think?
