*A few weeks later in Texas, everyone was packing and getting ready to head to California*
Nick: So you rented the minivan, right Kevin?
Kevin: Yeah, Danielle and I are on our way to pick it up right now.
Joe: Were not going to get much driving in if you guys dont go get it soon.
Danielle: Calm down Joey, were going.
Joe: My name isnt Joey, thank you.
Selena: Please dont start. We havent even hit the road yet.
Danielle: Im sorry Joe (hugs him)
Joe: (Taps her shoulder) Mhm.
Nick: (Pushing Kevin and Danielle out the door) Okay, go.
Kevin: Were going, were going.
Danielle: You guys will take care of the bags right?
Selena: Of course they will.
Joe: (Rolls his eyes and puts his arm around Nicks shoulder) Yeah, us guys will.
Nick: (Pushes Joes arm off of him and laughs) Of course.
Danielle: Alright, see you in a few.
Selena: Bye!

*Twenty minutes later, Danielle and Kevin got back home with the minivan. It took them all fifteen minutes to pack everything into the van and get ready. Soon enough they were all in the van and on their way to California. Kevin drove the first day, stopping for the night in Arizona. The next day, Danielle finished the driving. Shortly after dinner time that night, they all found a hotel to stay at not too far from the college Joe was planning on attending in the fall. Around the corner from their hotel was Pattys diner. They had not eaten supper yet, so they decided to have dinner at Pattys. Ironically enough, they went into the diner and sat at one of Demis tables. Without Demi seeing who it was, she walked over to the table. The five of them were looking at the menu*
Demi: (Looking at the pad of paper in her hand) May I get you something to drink?
Selena: (Without looking up) Water is fine, five please.
Demi: (Nods) Ill be right back with those (Walks away for a moment then returns with their water, and places it on the table without looking at them) Are you all ready to order?
Nick: I think Ill have (Looks up) Oh my god.
Selena: (Looks at Nick then up at Demi, speechless)
Demi: (Still looking at her notepad, she laughs) Im sorry sir, thats not on the menu (Looks at Nick)
Kevin: (Looking at the menu) Nick would you just order already?
Demi: (Looks around the table, noticing Nick, Selena, Kevin, a small baby boy, a woman she didnt know, and Joe. She then started to get tears in her eyes and covers her mouth with her hand)
Kevin: Fine, I will--
Nick: You live in California?
Selena: (Starting to cry) Its been so long (Stands up and hugs Demi with tears coming down her face)
Joe: (Looks up, shocked) Demi?
Demi: (Without hugging back, for a moment she stared at Joe. As a tear fell down her face, she pulled Selenas arms off of her) I, uh, Ill make sure another waitress is here to take your order (Walks into the kitchen and leans against the counter crying)
Miley: (Walks over to her) Dem, whats wrong?
Demi: (Wiping her face) Theyre here.
Miley: (Confused) Who is here?
Demi: (Looks into her eyes) Them.
Miley: (Catching on) Are you sure?
Demi: (Nods)
Miley: (Hugs her) Okay, its okay. Tiff will take that table. Go back to my apartment, Dave and Mitch are there.
Demi: (Nods) Thanks Mi.
Miley: Of course. But now that they know youre here, they deserve an explanation.
Demi: Mi, I just cant deal with them right now. Especially Joe.
Miley: Of course, I understand. Ill sit down with them and talk with them once Tiff gets their food. Ill explain everything, okay?
Demi: (Nods)
Miley: Now go, Ill see you in a couple of hours.

*Demi leaves to go see David and Mitchell. Meanwhile back at Pattys Diner, Jess had taken Demis table and got them their food. Miley told her that she was going on her break. She went and sat down in the empty chair between Danielle and Devin*
Miley: Hi guys.
Selena: (Upset) Miley.
Miley: (Looks at Selena) Oh, Sel, please dont be upset with me. She made me promise not to say anything. This was her decision.
Nick: Its been two years since weve heard from her. The least you could have done was told us she was here and that she was okay.
Kevin: You and David both knew this whole time?
Miley: (Nods) Guys, believe me, Im sorry.
Joe: (Starting to get angry) Where is she?
Miley: Joe
Joe: (Looks at Miley) Where the hell is she?
Miley: Shes at my apartment, shes fine.
Danielle: (Feeling uncomfortable) Umm
Kevin: Oh, sorry sweetie. Miley this is Danielle, my girlfriend. Danielle this is Miley, a friend of ours, and Demis.
Danielle: Oh, so that was Demi? Shes really pretty.
Selena: She always has been. Shes really grown up though. Miley, is she okay?
Miley: (Nods her head) It took her a while to be, but she really is.
Nick: Shes probably forgotten all about us by now. Well, until now, I guess.
Miley: (Shakes her head) Trust me, she hasnt. I dont think a day goes by she doesnt think about you guys.
