We sat in Burger King eating our burgers. I heard a few people whisper my name but ignored them, tough I could tell Haley thought they were whispering about her.

"Thank you Nick." She said, almost apologetically

"For what?" I asked.

"For bringing me here. I definitely needed it."

"Really, Its no big deal and I could tell you were having a bad day. People having good days dont just cry to themselves in the halls."

She laughed a bit.

"So are you going to tell me why you were crying?"

"I cant" She stated.

"Will you ever?"

"Im sure youll find out sooner or later." She trailed of.

"And if I dont?"

"Then I'll tell you."

"Promise?"

"Promise." She smiled. "So can I ask you something?"

"Yea."

"Whyd you care? I mean youve never even seemed to care before. You usually keep to yourself."

"Ive noticed you Haley. Youre the only girl in the school who has never once come up to talk to me. Or been all over me."

"Honestly, Ive never cared. There are more important things in the world besides boys. I used to listen to your music, but that was before. . . " Once again, she trailed off.

"Before what?"

"Thats one other thing I just cant tell you."

"Your confusing."

"I dont do it on purpose. I just have a lot of things I dont share with others."

My phone signaled that I had a text.

"Oh crap!" I yelled at my phone.

"What is it?" She asked.

"I have to go watch my brother. Ill drive you home?"

"Sure."
