Capitol Reef National Park Cattle Drive Video

The Pace Cattle Company has been grazing cows in Southern Utah for over a hundred years. In the late 60s the Department of Interior created Capitol Reef National Park. The grazing permits for the Park are only until his sons retire, then no cattle will be allowed in the Park.
For the last three years we have flagged for the cattle drive. The route is through the Park on state route 24, for about eighteen miles, this route follows the original trail. State Route 24 was paved in the late 60s. The Drive crosses the Fremont River and moves the last ten miles to the winter desert. A piece of Western History will be lost forever.
