Shane Dawson's 60 Bicycle Ride in Tokyo Video

About a year and half a go I made I 30 second bicycle ride of Tokyo animation. This one is twice as long. It features places in my neighborhood.

It starts on the top floor of the Ebisu Garden place to give you an idea of crowded the whole city is.

It then moves to Gotanda Station where a street musician is playing a shamisen. I Japanese instrument which is used in Kabuki and a variety of other folk genre.

Then there is a scene from Ikedayama Park next to the Hospital where I have been getting treatment.

Then we segue into the area around Shinbaba station. The Honkoji Buddhist Temple and the "Success Dori" shopping district which is located on the Tokaido, the ancient road contacting Tokyo with cities to the West.

The video concludes with a sunset at "lovers' point" on the Japan Sea in Niigata. It is very very far from Tokyo - but it was such nice footage I decided to sneak it in.

The character riding the bicycle was created for Shane Dawson last summer. He asked me to make an intro and outro for a series entitled "Shane Dawson Shorts". After I put in the hours to produce the animation he scrapped the idea and canceled the series cuz his fans hated it. Lucky me now I have a new character to play around with me in my animations. I think Ken Tanaka said it best when he described Shane by saying "he'S a very nice man." I whole heartedly agree with that assessment and it was a joy to work with him.
