Wind, Becalmed, Position 9*00n by 21*45w .I am having trouble with the computer freezing up and not cutting on, but I am still trying to give up dates .

It is summer time here near the equator now and it is very hot. It is sunny and not too windy and that makes it even hotter. Most of the schooner has inch thick insulation and wood paneling over it and that helps in the cold and the heat. I have had to cover the skylights with tarps to keep the sun from burning in. I leave the hatches open even when it rains. I throw several big towels down to keep the water from going where I don't want it to go and I throw a vinal over the stove to keep it dry. A little water dripping into the bilge does not hurt anything. Now I am glad I have plenty of fresh water, because I am drinking twice as much and taking up to four fresh water rinses a day. I bucket off with salt water to cool down, often washing with soap and then rinse with salt, then rinse with fresh. I never leave salt water on me. I rigged a wind scoop into the galley and it is nice to feel how that increases the air flow inside. Once when a light shower was approaching, I went to tilt the forward hatch and I could feel the blast of hot air coming out of the schooner. I always cover my body and use sun
screen and I try never to go outside during the hot part of the day. I am glad I have experienced ice and snow on the deck, but I prefer hot weather. I am still doing odd jobs, but I am creating more art and I really enjoy that. It is beautiful and amazing out here!!
