MCN Roadtest: Jack Lilley Triumph Scrambler Video

Jack Lilley motorcycles are famed for producing one-of-a-kind Triumph specials and this is their latest.

Based on the 2009 Scrambler, this Triumph has been given that 'Great Escape' Steve McQueen look. The standard Matt Khaki Green paintwork was the inspiration for this project and Lilleys have taken it one step further by blacking out all the chrome and ali.

They've also bolted a pair of Hagon shocks to the rear to sharpen up the handling and fitted a fruity sounding 2-1 Arrow exhaust.

Check out our video to see what Senior Road Tester, Michael Neeves thinks of it and read his review in MCN, Wednesday 10 December, 2008.

jamiebridges123: Sounds quite nice, not my kinda bike though!
frostr1: man that's a sweet ride.
ShamanWS6: Not really my thing (I have a Tuono and a GSX-R) but if I was looking for a cruiser/coffee shop type of bike this might be the one.
gengiz: im into supersports and own a 2008 zx6r but i liked it would be a cool cruiser to the beach
toilit: nice bit of brit iron!!
calineophyte: Awful sound....again MCN. FI made to look like carbs.... silly.
animal100000: looks mingo but sounds good.
smurf022: I buy mcn every week, you'd think they'd use the money to put decent sound on their videos
HandleOnTheRight: Bad food, worse weather, Mary Fu*@&$% Poppins, LONDON! Great bike though!
revolt63: Sounds Sweet ; )
topski100: I can see a few celebs riding that
Schilliebillie: I got a 2007 Scrambler in matt black and indeed it's a great bike with a killer sound. I ride it every day for commuting and last summer with my girlfriend as pillion, we conquered the Alps in Austria with it.
Airoyster: I think it was a mistake for Triumph to go with matte colors on this model.I don't think the black engine is in keeping with the vintage look.I have a 2006 Caspian Blue/White model with the brushed aluminum engine cases which I think looks much nicer.2009 models have lost the vintage look in my opinion.I personally don't really care for it.The hand finished paintwork and brushed engine cases of the first Scrambler model are the styling cues that put this bike on the map.
aal1978: loooove the matte colors...
nazirun: i agree the poser carb is kinda on the goofy side.
bigleonard: I think the fake carbs are fine, it has to have em to keep the look. Definately not a mistake with the colours, and even if you dont like the colours theyve invented this thing called paint now
deadmauzer: nice mod to the bike, sounds so sweet. :D really like it.
fadgadget: Jack lileys are in middlesex, not london.but the weather is probably as bad .
farzanaj: That my friends is what a motorbike should sound like.
thanatas: i love this bike
barnett682: WOW that looks the shit!!!! sounds amazing too, have to save up for one of these beauties!!
ntrudr800: Nice. I like it. The sound is ideal for cool people. Uncool people don't like the sound. So ha!
BigSmellyRangey: I have to have one. Off-road tyres and a jack-up kit please.
StrangelyBrownNo1: Gah, the exhaust system should have been blacked out too!
