When Skylar Met Jacob: Chapter Eleven, Part One Video
Chapter Eleven: Full Of Suprises
June the fourth. Last day of school of my junior year. Last day of seeing Jacob at school. Last dayof seeing Cody and Joe at school. I sighed.
This has been the best few months of my life. I've never been so happy; I've never felt so alive. Who knew I would be friends with this kind of people? I always hated the stuck-up cheerleaders, and how they
were all so perfect. I would never even imagine speaking to the Jonas Brothers, better yet go to prom with Joe! And I would've never thought I would fall in love with anyone so early in my life. Seventeen and in love. How unhealthy.
Jacob will be off to Texas in two months. I better make the best of what I have left. After school we're having a party at the Jonas'. I love how none of my friends party. The other groups at my school do, and
it's weird how this group is popular? Weird.
I was in fourth period with Cody and Jacob, and we were taking pictures.
"Skylar," Cody began, "I'm so glad you moved here. You have made my life amazing. Thanks to you, I have a girlfriend; one who isn't a skank!"
"Thanks, Cody. I'm glad I moved here too."
"Excited for the party tonight?" Jacob asked me.
"Yeah I am. It's going to be fun."
"I can take you home tonight if you want. Save money on gas."
"Okay sounds good."
The teacher dismissed us from class for the last time. I can't believe it's already been four months! It's crazy how time passes so quickly. Jacob drove me home as usual after we gave everyone good-bye hugs. Even though we were going to see each other tonight. I laughed to myself.
He stopped the car in front of my house and turned off the ignition.
"Skylar, I need to talk to you."
I froze. "Okay."
"I just wanted you to know that . . well, I'm really going to miss you when I leave for school."
"I'll miss you too, Jacob."
"No, I mean, I am REALLY going to miss you. You just . . you're really amazing. I've never really met someone that's quite like you. I know it's corny, but I just thought you should know."
It was very quiet then. I didn't know how to respond. I know if I would've opened my mouth I would either spit out my drool or say "I love you." I had to control myself. "I really wish you didn't have to leave 'cause
you're honestly my best friend."
"I don't have to."
"Huh?"
"I could stay here. You know, go to California State. I mean, it's really close from here. We could hang out almost everyday like we do now."
"No, Jacob."
"What? I thought you wanted me to stay."
"I do. But you've been planning to go to Texas for forever. Don't ruin your full scholarship over there just because of a girl you met four months ago. It's not like we're dating, Jacob. We're best friends. What about Cody? Aren't you gonna miss him too?"
"Yeah but not like I'll miss you." He rolled his eyes along with his head and looked at me. I looked at him with the exact expression I've been wanting to give him since I met him. That look that lets that person
know your feelings; the only look you would know about once you're in love.
We both exchanged the looks for moments that seemed hours, while we poured our eyes into one another's. I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I flipped it open, and realized it happened to be my mom.
Of course, she always interrupts the most important times of my life. Jacob was still staring at my face. He didn't even bother to look at my phone to see who was calling me.
"Hello?"
"Hey!" my mom exclaimed.
"Hi?"
"Where are you?"
"I'm with Jacob in front of the house."
"Why aren't you inside?"
"He . . um, wanted to show me some pictures of us last week at church." Jacob looked at me with a confused expression. I held my pointer finger up to him.
"Oh. Alright. Well, you need to come inside because someone is here to see you."
"Okay." I hung up the phone and looked at him.
"Why did you say I was showing you pictures?"
"Because my parents for some reason have a theory that we like each other. So if I said we were talking, she would just assume we're kissing or something."
Jacob raised his eyebrows.
"Yeah. I know," I said rolling my eyes.
"Well I guess I'll let you get home. I'll call you when I'm in your driveway."
"Okay. And Jacob?" I said right before I closed the door.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks." I smiled at him. Before I could say something else, he reached over and brushed his fingertips on my cheek, and then kissed it.
"Anytime, Skylar." He drove out of my driveway and then went to his. Butterflies were going crazy in my stomach. I thought I was going to throw up.
I opened my front door and noticed an unfamiliar face stood in front of me. Or at least, an old face. It was Sawyer!
"Oh my gosh! Hey!" I yelled. He grabbed me and gave me a huge bear hug while picking me up to twirl me
around. "Sawyer, what are you doing here?"
