Mt Yasur Volcano Eruption on Tanna Island Vanuatu 2009 Video

Mt Yasur on the Island of Tanna in Vanuatu is the most accessible volcano in the world. This was recorded in mid September 2009. Yasur was very active, as you can see, the eruptions are higher than the rim of the crater, and some fly over the lower edge. I estimate that the larger eruptions would have easily filled a football stadium. We were only allowed to go to a few selected viewpoints. some of the molten lava landed less than 50 meters away!!!! This is the highest level of activity before they close the summit. The background music is from local string bands, we even heard reggae versions of Beatles music. Bob Marley is a God in Vanuatu.
