In 2007 after repeated attempts Jeremy Paxman agreed to an interview on the basis that my Uni, the University of Gloucestershire enter a team into University Challenge. We went ahead with submitting a team for a laugh.
When the Students Union found out about our plan they blocked our attempts fearing that we would embarass the Uni with how badly we would do, and as a result the University would punish the Students Union by slashing their funding and budget.

Finally in 2009 after two futher years of attempts and no team in University Challenge, Jeremy Paxman agreed to a 7 minute interview, what are watching is the result of several years worth of emails........
