Roving Ronin Report Presents Yamanote Halloween Train Video

yamanote halloween train - this is a slightly longer verison of the video I uploaded months ago. Iplan to do a longer version with interviews and so on for October.

One thing I feel I should point out to the suck-up gaijin-hating gaijins and to the xenophobic rightwing japanese, the Tokyo Yamanote Halloween Train is NOT solely a Gaijin (Foriegner) event. Perhaps in the past but the two years I rode the Halloween Train, there were just as many Japanese as there were foriegners. The first 3 people in my vid are Japanese. I've noticed those who disapprove of the Yamanote Halloween Train often try to make the event out as just a bunch of obnoxious gaijins on a japanese train when it's really a fun event that's becoming more and more popular with Japanese. I spoke with several Japanese participants and commuters who told me they really enjoyed it.

Check out my blog for details of my first experience with the Yamanote Halloween Train:

ShinsengumiTaicho1: That was awesome! Although some subtitles interviews would be pretty cool too (in my opinion).
RoninDave: I plan to do a longer version with some interviews - this is a quick overall montage
colinluzio: Could see me a few times in this one. Can't wait for this year, only 2 months to go!
RoninDave: don't tell That Aussie! He'd have a fit!
ngy123: Go to Hell nerd.
RoninDave: you first
banbibu1: Leave Japan. Japan does not welcome you
RoninDave: nope
banbibu1: There is the train for Japanese life. Do not have a party! The train is not a bar! The Japanese does not regard Halloween as hanami in the same line. Halloween is your festival. It is not a Japanese thing. Do not make a selfish excuse!
RoninDave: be quiet, sock puppet! You just "joined" yesterday.
Gigantor: Wow fun Idea!
mukkaa: Even if some japanese people are participating too, the event is upheld by a group of foreigners with a certain mentality; these foreigners don't understand that you are obligated as a visitor to another country to act as an ambassador of your own. This is achieved by respecting law and order, customs etc. Most locals really hate this event (some are even scared) and inevitably they come to hate foreigners too. Surely you are aware of this outcome. Why do you encourage it?
RoninDave: your outcome is mountains out of molehills and assumptions. I have had a number of requests from Japanese who want to join. I have shown these vids to Japanese students of various ages and they all thought it was funny. It's a bit of mischief sure but harmless. It's been blown out of proportion by individuals who never would have heard of it if not for media outlets like youtube. 99% of the critics will probably never encounter the halloween train in their lifetime so they ought not too worry.
BaldBerlitzBoy: Geez Davey, after a year you'd think you'd come up with a new excuse other then that "Mountain/ Molehill" scratched record that you keep spinning. All that free time and you can't be a little more creative. English teacher for life...........
RoninDave: just wanting to see if you'd bite - sure enough I was right
BaldBerlitzBoy: Take a wild guess at what you can bite Davey, and here's a hint, It ain't a race queen's tit.
RoninDave: you're just mad 'cause I keep suckering you into making a fool out of yourself again and again and again. Can't believe you're still at it a year later and nothing to show for it. Tisk! Tisk! Tisk!
tanukisan666: Osoroshii desu, yo! (:P
MegaSoybeans: Please explain why the participants' choice to use the properties of JR East to hold an unauthorised event must be prioritised over the vast majority's right to use said properties in a manner designated by JR East and its share holders.
RoninDave: getting a lot of use out of your new pocket websters?
MegaSoybeans: The meaning isn't inunderstandable, is it? Where is the answer? Excuses of the participants on this unauthorised event are far from being logical. They either sidestep to avoid giving an answer or just go insane and say nonsense when they are asked to justify their behaviour.
RoninDave: inunderstandable? They must have updated websters since last I checked.
lilyphilia84: its a shame...no respect at all.
