Trebuchet at Kentwell 2009 (1535)

i built a trebuchet this last year out of fencing pine and sisal (natural string/rope) this was filmed on the last day of it's erection, and unfortunatly it had rained quite heavilythe last week meaning that the knots holding the axle up weren't great and the whole thing broke during this run. oh well - at least mine worked unlike the one from the year before.

Trebuchet "Pi mal Daumen" Second Shot

This is the trebuchet my brother and i built during christmas vacation. We went to the fields nearby the river Rhine, quite close to our home. We put the thing up and could fire a first shot with about 70 kg counterweight (4* 17.5kg slabs of stone). The projectile was a cobble stone of precisely 1.5 kg. In the early days of the trebuchet, it is said that they were used to return diplomats from the beseiged city when the terms weren't acceptable.
