The City of Janesville Leisure Services hosted Sugar, Spice and Ice Fest at Traxler park on December 5, 2009. The event featured kids activities including games, crafts, petting zoo, tree lighting, Santa & Rudolph, and a fireworks display.

Sugar and Spice Bacon
Yields: 8-10 servings Ingredients: 1 lb. thick sliced bacon ¼ cup brown sugar 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar ½ tsp. cayenne Preparation Directions: ~ Cook bacon in a frying pan until crisp. Drain on paper towels and place in a baking dish. ~ Pour off dripping from frying pan. Add brown sugar, vinegar, and cayenne to skillet and simmer until brown sugar has dissolved. Pour over bacon in baking dish. ~ Heat in oven at 300 degrees until bacon is heated through.
