This animated movie is one from a collection of animated movies created as part of the "Digital Litracy Project" and was sponsered by the SEELB, Northern Ireland, and co-ordinated by Studio - On, Belfast's creative learning centre. These series of workshops took place once a week for two hours and involved the usual exercises to introduce animation, its magic and other technical details through animation and movie making exercises. This animated was movie made by the second year pupils attending the De La Salle secondary school in Downpatrick, Co.Down in Northern Ireland. This video is of the orphans of Maseru East orphanage singing to the SEELB-Schull group who visited Lesotho in April/May. This could barely be called an orphanage. 9 kids to a single bed in a metal shack smaller than the average shed in UK. A dump beside the orphanage and used condoms and wrappers lying on the ground. This was part of the a SEELB literacy project, run through Studio ON, as was the Steel Man of Killyleagh film. Mr. Millar and his P5 class were new to animation and had great time making up the story. The script went through many re-writes but only got better for it. The acting of the narrators and the quality of the artwork plus the addition of an exploding troll make this one worth repeat viewings.
