JAMAICAN Melaine Walker smashed the Olympic record in winning Jana Rawlinson's event - the women's 400m hurdles - in Beijing China. With reigning world champion Jana Rawlinson absent, Walker was never challenged and she seized on the perfect conditions at the Bird's Nest to stop the clock at 52.64sec.
