Polar Bear Swim at Ngorongoro Crater Sopa Lodge
On the way back from the Serengeti and Olddupai Gorge we stayed one night overlooking Ngorongoro Crater. The view was spectacular. After diving in at the swimming pool at Ngorongoro Crater Sopa Lodge, staff informed me that the pool was mostly decorative. They get only a few swimmers in a month ..... and *never* when it is so cold. So.... they never had a reason to heat the pool.
