Monday of week two of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP15). After waiting in a massive line outside in the coldfor several hours this morning, I finally arrive to the Bella Center and post this video as I wait for the plenary session "Executive Secretary Briefs Civil Society" to begin.
Plenary Entrance Hall, Pre-Lockdown
Protesters need official sanction to demonstrate inside the conference walls, and have to tread a fine line between gaining attention and being thrown out. Tuvalu, a low-lying island nation with everything at stake, took a heavy interest in the afternoon proceedings with a number of NGO groups converging at the entrance of the Plenary to lend their support. The protests got out of hand however, with entrance to the hall being blocked for non-government observers shortly after we arrived ...
