Boon Lay Blk 257 Residental HDB - Express Lift (GEC) Elevator
Boon Lay/Jurong West (Pioneer) is full of elevators manufactured by Express Lift, as the town was built mostly during that era. Notice that the UK-style warning stickers can be seen on the outer doors from the elevator cab as it moves. At one point this elevator detected a fault and announced that the lift has broken down in 4 languages ("Lift has broken down. You'll notice that the interior design of this lift shares the same theme with Blk 856C, but somehow still look rather different. That's because the two blocks are next to each other. Tampines St 82 Blk 856C Residental HDB - Express Lift (GEC) Elevator
While UK-based Express Lift Co Ltd of Northampton, England received a large order to install elevators on a batch of residential HDB developments, it was to be amongst the last and newest of them. The company was acquired from General Electric Company (GEC) by Otis Elevator Company in 1995, and the latter maintains them today. In search of more classic lifts in... "Sutton" (UK - South West of London). Part 3
Winter's here, before leaving Sutton on this day I took a trip round a dark Sutton town centre in search of more interesting classic lifts that i've not seen in a while. I found one in the end, a Bennie with, sounding like, all mechanical machinery up in the motor room (this is in Part 3). Found some others as well, like the "longest floor arrival announcements" ever in the Library (also in part 3).

A professor got in, so it's a crappy take. There's no hint to the brand at all except for the fact that it has Otis leveling. Modernized by Delta-Beckwith in 2004. The cables on this are SO STRETCHED. Installed 1967. 200fpm. B/BR, 1/1R, 2, 3, 4 This is also a service elevator for the cafeteria which is on 1. Filmed with EnV Touch.
