Entering at Little River Falls, we made our way downstream, criss-crossing the river several times and trailblazing most of the way for 8 hours, until we reached Deep Hollow Bridge in White Rock. a sunny afternoon visit to the summit of Mount Shubel, Sandy Cove, Digby Neck, Nova Scotia. From the summit, you can see St. Mary's Bay to the left, Digby Neck straight ahead, and the Bay of Fundy to the right. Short but steep trail on private property, leading to an amazing view. No fences between you and a steep 100ft+ drop, however, so keep back from the edge.

a June hike out to see Balancing Rock, Tiverton, Long Island, Nova Scotia. 235 steps to descend, and then climb. The Rock is a lone piece of columnar basalt left standing when all the pieces around it fell away. Locals have actually tried to pull the rock over with fishing boats; purpose uncertain. In my opinion, the best time to view it is in the morning, when the sunlight is to the east; in the afternoon, the rock becomes silhouetted. ...
