The NATO chief said Wednesday that alliance members would send at least 5000 troops to back the new US troop increase, but key nations made no immediate offer to help. On Tuesday, US President Barack Obama said he is sending 30000 more troops to Afghanistan, as he vowed to "seize the initiative" to end an unpopular war and start a pullout in July 2011.
