Ringing bells it was clear that the 6th was not sounding as it should do. The Dutch bell expert Gideon Bodden had a look at the bell, took some measurements and calculated that it could be improved. We took the bell to my works and put it on the lathe. After tuning the bell looked a bit funny shaped but the end result is very satisfying, as you can hear also on some recent videos of Klockhuys. Switched from the bigger carbide paint scraper back to the machinist's scraper. Spotting is looking good again and the coverage is starting to expand a bit.

The wheels are turned from 32mm (1 1/4") bar on an Axminster Sieg C0 micro lathe (blooming difficult by the way; I recommend a bigger machine if you have the space and cash) with the recess milled using a milling cutter in the lathe and a home-made jig on the cross slide.
