This song was possibly written (more likely collected) by FW Moorman , president of the Yorkshire Dialect Society, about 1900'. The tune is 'written by Dave Keddie of Bradford about 1960 so quite recent. It can be found in Yorkshire Dialect Poems (1673-1915) It's not heard much these days but there is an excellent version by Christy Moore (an Irishman) and Tim Hart (a Midlander) who didn't know hor to pronounce Keighley [He says Keely rather than Keithley] So here's a version by a Yorkshireman ...
