is a perfect canon from beginning to end. (If you do not know what a canon is, try googling or wikipediaing it!) It is not one of my favorite Inventions musically. Don't get me wrong, I like all the Inventions of course, it's just that this one just seems "academic" regardless of how one chooses to play it. It is the third slowest of all the Inventions after no. 14 (at 48 bpm) and no. 9 (at 54 bpm). Its tempo of 63 bpm Bach would have considered "andante" especially with no 32nd-note activity ...
