smith machine squat

With smith machine squats you get the same amount of focus on your quadriceps, hamstrings and gluteals as you do with regular barbell squat or dumbbell squat. Since it is more of a stable movement more weight can be used and as long as you are properly alined it is much safer than a regular squat.
