The occasion of this video was a 2009 Ghana trip, with 18 individuals, with being our first hotel stay after arrival in Ghana. Elmina Beach Resort Hotel is located right next to the Atlantic Ocean, with a great layout of its rooms, as seen in this video. As a general review, the group was well pleased with the hotel accommodations; great restuarant food and service; nice layout of rooms as seen in the video. From the hotel, we had an easy bus trip to our next stop, the nearby Elmina Castle....

The Elmina Slave Castle was erected by the Portuguese in 1482, and restored by the Ghanaian government in the 1990s as a national museum and monument. The oldest European building in existence below the Sahara, the castle is located in Elmina, Ghana. Possession of the castle changed with the Dutch's seizure in 1637, and later the British in 1871. The British granted the Ghana (former the Gold Coast) independence in 1957. This video was created during my group's tour of the castle in 2009....
