March 2007 Violent storm Bay of Biscay Pride of Bilbao

This was the crossing which gave us an extra night in the Bay of Biscay, as the port in Santurzi was closed. What fun. The commentary is the Captain on a recent trip which was cancelled after we arrived in spain, due to 12 metre waves in Biscay. Horrendous journey home by coach across France, packed in like sardines, then ferry to Dover. Then coach to Pompey. Channel crossing from dover UK to france. It was an enormous ship, the weather was perfect and the puffy white clouds in summer blue sky, sea gulls flying around, warm breeze, green ocean and white rocks at dover. And when i thought it cant get any better than this i saw the interior of the cruise. It had 7 floors and it was great.. i felt like i was aboard titanic!

Canadian WW2 Typhoon Pilot Bill Clifford is on board the ferry crossing the English channel from Portsmouth UK to France as his son Robert asks him about crossing the channel under different circumstances many years previous. Bill Clifford completed 92 sorties as a pilot in RCAF 440 squadron flying the fighter bomber Typhoon. He was crossing the channel this day to attend a dedication of a memorial to all Typhoon pilots.
