Well the gearbox finally went in the Zed and this was the first event in it for several months. Dad was kind enough to let me drive his car in our third event and given I qualified ahead of him in the Datsun this was bound to be an interesting event. This video is 3 laps of me in Dad's Supra TT and him ahead of me in my Datto both doing almost identical times. ( mazdadrivers.com ) The car is a 1993 Mazda RX-7 Twin Turbo, mostly stock with reliability modifications. It is still running on 17 year old OEM suspension with street tires. It runs at stock boost levels on the original turbos and a stock motor. Brake hardware is original with Hawk DTC-60 race pads. Driving the 3rd session on day two for my first weekend at Virginia International Raceway - Full Course, the only time the camera worked. I was the only car on Racing Compound tires I believe, everyone else was on street tires. I started to let off and and get lazy as I was on the verge of exhaustion at this point from the crappy sleep in the hotel.
