Emerald ash borer killing ash trees

Melissa Fierke, Ph.D., assistant professor of forest entomology at SUNY ESF, and David Nowak, Ph.D., project leader with the US Forest Service, talk with The Post-Standard's Marnie Eisenstadt about the threat of the emerald ash borer, a beetle, on ash trees. The beetle, native to Asia, was discovered near Detroit in 2002 and has since killed tens of millions of ash trees in several states and Canada.
