A gibbon and his toy
One of our zookeepers shot a quick video on his cell phone of our male white-cheeked gibbon playing with a ball. If you turn up your volume, you can hear the sounds the ball makes when it rolls. This is part of our enrichment program at Dickerson Park Zoo. Gibbons are lesser apes. They have very long arms in relation to their bodies (as you can see in the video!).

Today was the first day of the season for the Aldabra tortoises to be in the outdoor yard at Dickerson Park Zoo. A few fortunate zoo guests got to watch the parade of tortoises first-hand.
