On a cruise to The Canary Islands from Southampton, (November 12th 2009) The Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Independence Of The Seas runs into a Force 11 Storm in the Bay Of Biscay with 95 Knot Winds and 35 ft plus waves. The Royal Promenade was closed after a glass panel fell from above, dislodged by the movement of the ship, narrowly missing a passenger. All outer decks were closed at the height of the storm.
