Ziltoid the Omniscient - Hyperdrive (Devin Townsend cover)

Ziltoid the Omniscient - Hyperdrive (Devin Townsend cover)

So yeah I actually just learned this on the day of this posting, so yeah, sorry for any mistakes, or any bleeding ears that will no doubt come from playing this video. Anyway, I noticed a few covers already up for this song but I play it a little differently than the ones that I watched. Tuning for this is open C major ( cgcgce) I believe that's right anyway lol.

A song I wrote about holleradoland and being away from home. It's the opening song on Hollerado's first full album - played youtube style! Chords: CGCGCE Am C7 F Fm C Lyrics: When you take a trip, better not take a dip in alligator pond cause then you'll lose an arm, you'll wish you were back in Holleradoland When you take a plane down to the runway lane in the hurricane isles you'll find after a while there's no better place then Holleradoland. When you take to the sky towards alpha centauri aliens will steal your ship, they'll leave you floating adrift forever in search of where? -- Of Holleradoland!

Ocean Cover (John Butler)

Ocean Cover (John Butler)

This is my new version of John Butler's ocean on my new Maton EM425/12. This cover is a mixture of my favourite bits of his different versions. This song really does sound better on a twelve string guitar. The tuning for this song is CGCGCE. I find that once you learn the basics of this tuning its really easy to improvise in. I will hopefully have some more covers up soon. Enjoy.

DOUGIE MACLEAN READY FOR THE STORM COVER

DOUGIE MACLEAN READY FOR THE STORM COVER

Another song by Dougie Maclean in Open C Tuning CGCGCE I capo it lower than he does because I can't sing it in a higher key especially as it's late and I don't want to wake the neighbours lol. I'm using a Yamaha FGX720SC with Elixir strings that are too light for this low tuning I have to be careful they don't constantly buzz and a Tiny Sony handyman Video Camera.

Orange Sky - Alexi Murdoch (Cover)

Thought I'd take a shot at this beautiful song. It is an inspiration to me, so I hope I've done it justice. The unusual thing about this piece is that my version is in Open C (CGCGCE)

BFMV - Waking The Demon (Intro; Acoustic Cover)

***OK, first off, this video is not to be taken that seriously!! I made this video for the simple fun of making it, DO NOT EXPECT a PERFECT cover!! I played this on an acoustic because I only have acoustic guitars =P If you guys like this video and want me to make a full cover just leave a comment, I'll be more than happy to do it. ^__^ This is Waking The Demon by Bullet For My Valentine. Question by neverfoundthetime

Question by neverfoundthetime

One of my all time favourite songs by the Moody Blues played on my Takamine 12 string in open C (CGCGCE) tuning.. This is not (yet) a TARGET song. Wish it was. But my practising of other songs has helped me play this better and given me more confidence. It's not an easy song to get through without a mistake as my fingers get tired from holding down all the strings on the full barre chords. This took 2 takes. The first was 3 seconds long before I make the first mistake. So I stopped after 5 and started again. There are still some mistake in there but sometimes you just have to keep going.

Fine lines by John Martyn -A Cover Version

Fine lines by John Martyn -A Cover Version

No, it's not the 'John Martyn section of the Eurovision song contest' -it's yet another cover version of Fine Lines! The last 24 hours has seen Litegauge and Johni2bad and now myself uploading covers of this oft neglected JM classic-possibly a record amongst JM youtube guitar 'nuttas'. I must pay due regard and appreciation to Litegauge-his recommendation to me of open C unlocked a door that was closed to me for some years -for this one. After re-tuning and experimenting an hour or so I finally sat down and played it -start to finish-even if a few rough edges. Many thanks litegauge! So the tuning I used here is open C (CGCGCE). Great lyrics anall by JM here. [PS: I have endeavoured to try and show more guitar frets and fingers in this one so we JM nuttas can compare what we're doing more easily- hopefully. ] [Update: I did this in open C on this videoclip, but now I play 'fine lines' in CACGCE-provides for much easier fingering and may actually be jms original tuning for this I...
