Migrant Safety: Cell Phone Tower Proposal

In 2005 Humane Borders worked with John Hunter of Water Stations, Inc. (California) to propose placing cell phone towers in remote desert areas where distressed migrants could call for help. The proposal went through Duncan Hunter (R-CA), John's brother, to the Department of Homeland Security. Later when the virtual wall infrastructure began construction, another effort was made to propose placing 911 capability on SBInet towers.
