When we're alone - Al Bowlly

When we're alone - Al Bowlly

Roy Fox and his band (with vocals by Al Bowlly) play "When we're alone". Also known as the "Penthouse seranade". Recorded on the 13th April 1932 when Roy Fox was the resident band at the Monseigneur Restaurant in London. This disk is in E+ condition apart from an annoying rub mark at the 2 minute mark which sounds for a few turns. Enjoy!

A story less known but equal in merit, Al Bowlly was Britain's very first pop icon. Damion Scarcella now brings Al's story to the stage in an evening of 1930's splendor. With over 40 songs, 'Megaphone to ...

Whispering - Roy Fox & his band

Roy Fox and his band play "Whispering". This is the 1931 recording which has the spoken introduction to the song by Roy Fox. This is a great rendition of what was this bands signature tune. The other side of this disk is equally good and has Al Bowlly doing the vocals on a very upbeat version of "You are my hearts delight" (Londonderry air). I will upload that side at some point.
