How to fix your broken PS3 Bluray Drive If it doesn't spin when discs are put into drive, or it wont take or eject disc at all, then it could either be your laser is dead or your controller board. If you swap the laser and same issue then this is your fix. The hardest part is soldering the BGA NAND Chip ( Drive Firmware Chip. This links the bluray drive to the MOtherboard of the PS3, without this your can't play demos or any games or medai through Drive....

Blu Ray laser pointer PHR-803T
This is my first Blu ray Laser Pointer Build its in a Cree C3 UltraFire Host with a 405-G-1 lens its 120mA with a PHR-803T diode in it its around 130mW to 140mW idont have a meter yet but will be getting one soon but from spec sheets on LPF.com this is the range that it fall in. I did get some help on the host from JayRob. iam waiting for my host to come by next week because the host that iam using now is for my 12x build cooming very soon....I could not what so i put it in this host.......

ps3 laser problem?
my ps3 (80gb) recently stoped reading bluray discs right after worranty ran out so i opened it up and found that the laser crapped out so i got my friends ps3 (40gb) ylod problem and used the laser diod from that to attempt to fix mine well its a start it reads cds and dvds but not blurays if you know anything about this problem please comment or message me!
