Cleaned up and redubbed from the 1996 original. Filmed as the promo to Rise Above The Situation by some students we loving referred to as Plummetcam Productions (so named because they managed to kick over their camera & tripod once). The original video was supposed to feature a 1950's style parlour with Mr Manilow crooning into a vintage microphone, however this footage, and the huge stage curtain we had borrowed disappeared... ...never did track down that stage curtain

The Stepford Rejects began life in 2003 during the recording of the debut Dr Universalis album "Obtuse Strategies". Taking heavy influences from the commercial sound design of 1950's pioneer Raymond Scott (aka Manhattan Research Inc), The Stepford Rejects (aka Dr Universalis & Mitzi Deluxe) spent Sunday afternoons setting up extravagant self running modular synthesiser patches and recording the results.
