Bittern again! 60019 takes the Cathedrals Express from Paddington to Cardiff on the 5th of December 2009. The original route was through the Severn tunnel, however with the tunnel closed for engineering the train was diverted from Swindon to Gloucester via the Golden Valley line through Stroud. 60019 Bittern LNER A4 class takes the Cathedrals Express to Worcester 28th November 2009. What a treat, two pannier tanks on the mainline. Despite the forecast of bad weather, there was no way I was going to miss this! Saturday 14th November saw the pair on the SLS Special from Tyseley to Ironbridge and onward to the Severn Valley Railway. 60163 Tornado took charge of the return journey from Gloucester to London Victoria on Saturday 7th of November 2009. We see the locomotive as it passes Cheltenham light engine, Climbing Sapperton bank and finally cruising along past Uffington.

Filmed during the last week of this years Cambrian season (24th -28th August 2009) we see 4MT number 76079 possibly making it's last runs along this line. I hope I am wrong, but with ETRMS and the sale of this loco to the NYMR it is a possibility.
