Video from the 11/22/2009 Dallas Organ Society meeting - fortunately everyone left their rotten fruit and veg at home for this performance of Old Man River. Don Reasons on the console, Irwin on the tuba. Reminds me of the story when George and Ira Gershwin were casting for Porgy in "Porgy and Bess". Everyone who auditioned sang "Old Man River" and finally when Todd Duncan came in and sang German Leider - he got the job.

The State Fair of Texas allowed the Museum of the American Railroad to sound train whistles at 11:55, 1:55, 2:55, and 4:55 if the Chevy Stage was clear. This was the 11:55 sounding on 10/18/2009 last day of the State Fair. Amtrak usually brought in equipment to generate rider interest, so the Amtrak Genesis answers the museum's engines. Video shot during the last day of the State Fair of Texas 10/18/2009. I hope to make some kind of DVD out of this footage but we'll see. This is the best I have, my second camera has some issues and its sound is bad. But not surprising when you consider the calliope plays at 121 db at about 10 ft. The calliope was donated to the Museum of the American Railroad a number of years ago and dates from 1905 by the TJ Nichol and Son company with pipes and keyboard from the William Kirkup foundry ...

Well, you can't hardly miss when you play these two tunes. America the Beautiful follows Jesus what a Beautiful Name. Anton is on the left - Irwin on the right. This jammm was just us sitting about tossing tunes around on our Casion WK 3500/3800 keyboards. Anton Mordasov is on the left, I (irwin) am on the right. We use the auto-band on my casio for Aquarius and Anton provides the 'coloratura'. We finished and Anton went into a really nice improv that morphed into Rubenstein's Melody in F.
