Off road bash with the Kawasaki KLR650 and Suzuki DR650. Road tires on the DR650 cast motard wheels made for an interesting ride! Off road with the KLR650 and DR650 is like wrestling with bush pigs but makes for good exercise, probably the same for any model DR or KLR, 650 or otherwise.

Bit of road fun with the Kawasaki KLR650 and Suzuki DR650 motard. The KLR isn't a supermoto but corners pretty well on dual purpose tires. DR650 has cast motard wheels for extra grip. Not much in it, the KLR650 has very similar power and handling characteristics to the DR650SE. Probably the same thing across the DR and KLR range, 650 or otherwise. DR 650 is far easier for wheelies.

Out on the road with the smaller Harley hog, an 883 XL Sportster from Harley Davidson using the Gopro camera. Soundtrack is 'Born To Be Wild' but please note this hog rider is actually semi-domesticated, but with just enough wildness to be allowed on the Harley Davidson 883 XL Sportster.

Back into the wheelie archives for a series of crap to moderately ok wheelies over the decades. Saved a lot of front rubber but the back tires get expensive. Wheelies on motards, supermotos & sports bikes like the WR450, DRZ400, Speed Triple, Fireblade etc.

Take two comparable (extremely average) riders on a Speed Triple sports bike & a DR650 motard, which is faster? Sports bike wheelies to 100mph, the DR650 to 40mph (with helium in the forks and weather balloons on the handlebars) but DR650 is later on brakes & faster in the twisties. Horses for courses, take your pic ;-)

Same old wheelies on the Triumph Speed Triple but with the Gopro camera. We discovered that very average riding abilities and wheelies on the Speed Triple look a lot better when you put a bit of work into camera angles.

TS on his motard KTM 525EXC through his favourite supermoto sections in the mountains. Lent him the Gopro Hero 170 camera for the occasion. KTM motard cast wheels work a treat, lighter front end than spoked motard wheels so monos are a cinch on the KTM.

Out with the DR650, Gopro wide angle video camera and the still camera for a bit of action. The motard cast wheels are working out nicely on the DR650SE, lot more fun than a DR650 with the trail wheels on the road ;-) Only got stills of the wheelies as the DR650 don't stay up long! Need a mobile crane and helium in the front forks to lift the bloody thing...
