The Edge of Night June 1979 Part One

By request for my European friend Alessandro. Acquitted of murdering Wade Meecham, deranged Winter Austen (Stephanie Braxton) traps Nicole Cavanaugh (Jayne Bentzen) in the WMON-TV studio and menaces her with a ginormous pair of scissors.

Gunsmoke 1964 original intro/previews/close

This is a rarity. Although early episodes of Gunsmoke are being telecast on satellite, they do not include the original previews for the next episode introduced by the cast, as you see here with Amanda Blake, who later played Dr. Julianna Stanhower on Edge of Night. The format for Gunsmoke in 1964: the series opened with the intro theme, segued into the sponsor's commercial with no announcement, then returned for the writing and directing credits before the first scene. I enjoy this clip ...

One Life to Live July 1992 open/alternate close

In July 1992, headwriter Michael Malone penned an unusual episode based on Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in which the deceased Megan (Jessica Tuck) reappeared to her friends and family. The end credit sequence was altered for this one episode from the "satin sheets" to a beauty shot from the set at Llanfair.
My Three Sons sponsor open

From time to time, I will add non-soap material as there is a demand for original sponsor tags. This is one of the funniest in my collection. Note the MTS hands opening to reveal pancakes, then scooping them up. I wish programs still followed this practice. I'll post an end sequence later with a rather phallic Hunts ketchup bottle standing erect on screen.
A Time for Us 1965

This was a shortlived serial for ABC. I recently received an email from one of the actors who wanted to know if I had any episodes. There is one making the trading circuit rounds. These are the credits from that episode; however, the sound from a 16mm transfer is poor.

The Edge of Night December 1974

The opening and end titles for a 1974 episode of Edge. Hal Simms was either sick or on vacation as we have an alternate announcer, who does a very poor job, in my opinion. He definitely needs to work on his delivery of the title. Around this the time, the same announcer subbed for Dwight Weist at Search for Tomorrow, and it was most distracting. Cast crawl is featured.
