1962 Dodge 4 door sedan

1962 Dodge 4 door sedan

This body style is unique for Dodge and Plymouth this year. It is considered at the time to be "European" with its pronounced character lines on the side. I don't think it was too successful in the marketplace, for the following year, the styling was changed for a much more squarish appearance. Note the 225 ci slant 6, which I m sure gave adequate performance in this car. No power accessories were on this car, nor were they needed, in my opinion. Push button torqueflite was suppied, however....

1951 Nash Statesman Super Airflyte 2 door sedan

1951 Nash Statesman Super Airflyte 2 door sedan

Very streamlined car, ahead of its time, but it and the Packard of its day were sometimes referred to as "upside down bathtubs". Actually, I think it gave very good gas mileage..was far ahead of the big 3 in streamlining, and had the advantage of reclining seats and a very good heating and ventilation system.

2010 Ford F150 cutaway

An interesting model that shows the construction techniques and materials for the new Ford trucks! At the Orlando International Car Show. Indoor lighting made for somewhat blurry images.

Cutaway display, 5.4 liter Ford V8, and automatic transmission

Cutaway display, 5.4 liter Ford V8, and automatic transmission

This was a display at the 2009 Orlando International Auto Show. Note the 3 valve per cylinder design. I believe the transmission to be a 6 speed automatic.

1956 Plymouth Fury 2 door hardtop

1956 Plymouth Fury 2 door hardtop

Very stylish "forward look" hardtop! Note the pushbutton Powerflite transmission, but that's evidently been superseded by the floor shifter. Great "gold" anodized trim pieces on the side, similar to the look of the 57 Ford Fairlane 500. Hemi under the hood, together with A/C. I'd say that this car is pretty rare!

1964 Mercury Comet 4 door sedan....driven by the original owner over half a million miles!!

1964 Mercury Comet 4 door sedan....driven by the original owner over half a million miles!!

This lady owner loves her car! She bought it new and has maintained it over the years. She says the air conditioning unit is original to the car. Who says American vehicles don't last! :D

1954 Packard Carribean Convertible

1954 Packard Carribean Convertible

Beautiful paint and interior...note the imaginative two tone exterior. Flathead 8 with Ultramatic transmission. Note the wheel surrounds trimmed in chrome. This is the "down" position for the continental spare that allows access into the huge trunk! The vertical motor that I'm pondering about is probably part of the suspension system. Back in the day, these Packards were self-leveling. Add luggage, and the rear of the car would rise to accomodate the weight! Probably a motor driven hydraulic ...

1956 Mercury Montclair Hardtop

1956 Mercury Montclair Hardtop

Beautiful car..and a great side treatment via the chrome moldings. Everything perfect..the engine bay and interior are exceptional. This is a manual transmission car...I would think relatively rare compared to those outfitted with Mercomatic transmission.

Just like my old car...1964 Dodge Dart GT convertible

Just like my old car...1964 Dodge Dart GT convertible

Bought one just like this brand new off the showroom floor in 1964! Mine had a red interior...manual top and the good old 225 ci slant 6 engine with Torqueflite tranny. Great little car, great torque off the line! I tinkered with the alignment of the dash panel and caused a dead short..quick thinking I disconnected the battery and saved the wiring harness! I noticed in later years, Chrysler used a fusible link in the connection to the ammeter..mine didn't have that...that together with my ...

Pennsylvania License Plate Run

Pennsylvania License Plate Run

This is another in my series concerning my license plate collection. Early plates were made by private sign companies, and were metal with a porcelain covering. Plates were issued in pairs, one front, one back through 1951...then they moved to but one license plate to be displayed at the rear. Note the typical dark blue/orangeyellow color combination. In 1956 it was decreed that all US plates would be of standard size (Delaware excepted). PA did a great thing when they made letters smaller ...
