Employees from the Port of Long Beach participated in the annual Career Day Event at Hudson School in Long Beach. The recent event provided a way for 7th graders at the school to learn more about careers in international trade. Samara Ashley, Government Affairs Director, and Charles Mallory, Asst. Director of Information Management, were among the Port staffers who participated.

The Port of Long Beach has unveiled plans to replace the aging Gerald Desmond Bridge. Built in the 1960s, the bridge was not designed for present demands and is obsolete. The $1.1 billion dollar project will improve traffic flow, increase safety and support, on average, 4000 jobs a year for the five years of construction.
