In this episode, Kotone proceeds through the Seafoam (former Cinnabar) Island Gym, which can now be called a full fledged gym (it has trainers now!). Then, she battles Blaine, and that's about it.

Why are the Pokémon here at Level 2? I mean I know that the low leveled Pokémon were on this Route in the Kanto-based games, but seriously.. In this episode, Kotone goes down Cycling Road, stops at Fuchsia City, checks out the entrance of the former Safari Zone (now Pal Park), and enters the gym! After banging into plenty of invisible walls (they didn't even indent them in this game!), she finds Janine and proceeds to battle her, only to run into the time limit.
