How does Santacon Paris stack up to the original day of holiday mayhem born in San Francisco? Let's just say that after a few tries, Paris is still on its baby teeth. Turnout was definitely way up this year, as was the drunken revelry factor (by Parisian teetotaler standards)... But so was the farting-around, and over-organization of what should be chaos. Regardless, we'll be back next time, hopefully with more of a Santarchy vibe, and less of a sponsored-by-Red-Bull-and-Couchsurfing slant ...

lefooding.com's La Semaine du Fooding took place at the Piscine de Molitor, an old indoor swimming facility in Paris' 16th arrondissement. The theme this year was "Les Incorrects" - or basically "politically incorrect foods." In reality, other than the potential controversy over the horse meat served, there was nothing particularly outrageous or out of the ordinary here. In fact, one part was beyond mediocre. I ran the vocals of Depeche Mode's "Wrong" through Microsoft Songsmith - that hour on Windows was some of the most painful crap I've ever had to endure. I picked the four "best" renditions and mashed them together into one gloriously hideous track. Admittedly, this is boring. But it's something for me to remember this incredible storm by. The flashes of lightning are pretty cool, at least... The night portion was taken at 4 AM. The day portion as the storm continued at 4 PM.
