A 51-year-old Orono woman died Monday, Nov. 23, after she was hit by multiple vehicles while walking on Shoreline Drive. The victim, Lori Huddleston, who lived on Shoreline Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly after 8 pm, the Orono Police Department responded to a call of an accident involving a pedestrian and several vehicles on Shoreline Drive, just east of Orono Orchard Road. A Burnsville man was charged today with manslaughter in the Nov. 21 shooting death of 25-year-old Logan Ahlers, also of Burnsville. Michael Schwartz, age 25, faces charges for second-degree manslaughter, reckless discharge of a firearm, reckless handling or use of a gun and intentionally pointing a gun at another. Fridley resident sentenced for August 2008 robbery -

A Fridley resident was sentenced yesterday afternoon for a robbery committed in August 2008. Shawn Lee Jackson, age 20, was sentenced to 10 years of probation and 18 months in prison if he violates probation. He has already spent 235 days in jail, and that would reduce his potential future prison time to just less than one year.
