She followed him around in Jamaica as he preached and incorporated her experience of working with the BBC who subsequently met al Faisal in South Africa for the purpose of producing a news feature. Sheikh Abdullah al Faisal news feature
In 2003, Muslim preacher Abdullah al Faisal became the first Sheikh to be sentenced in the UK for inciting racial hatred and soliciting murder. It was a landmark case as nobody in the history of Britain had ever been prosecuted under the Offences against the Persons Act, with the absence of a victim. In a new report, Amnesty International lashed out at Saudi Arabia over abuses allegedly committed as part of its counter-terrorism operations. The human rights group said that since 2001, thousands of Saudi suspects had been detained for years without charge or trial, and described the Kingdoms human rights record as 'shocking' and 'dire'.
