December 1, 2009 The Taliban ended its lull in attacks in Pakistan with a suicide attack against a member of the provincial assembly in the Northwest Frontier Province. Iraq: Almost 100 Killed in Baghdad Bomb Attacks
Iraq: al-Qaeda bombings kill almost 100 as multiple targets hit in Baghdad. Almost 100 people have been killed and 500 were wounded in co-ordinated al-Qaeda bomb and mortar blasts across Baghdad, the deadliest attack since the US army pulled out of Iraq's major cities. Al-Qaeda and people loyal to the late former leader Saddam Hussein were responsible for todays assaults, President Jalal Talabani said in an e-mailed statement.
